Hermann is a fourth-class city governed by an elected mayor and Board of Aldermen. A full-time city administrator, who is hired by the Board of Aldermen, directs the day-to-day operations of city government.
The city is divided into two voting wards—Ward 1 on the east side of the town and Ward 2 on the west. Each ward elects two aldermen, who serve two-year terms. The mayor is elected at large, also for a two-year term.
Like any well-run business, the City of Hermann relies on people of goodwill working together for the benefit of all.
